Electrovaya became a public company in November 2000 with a listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol EFL. Prior to its public offering Electrovaya had been a research and development company cofounded in 1996 by Dr. Sankar Das Gupta and Dr. James Jacobs.
